Nine sets of American trotting harnesses stolen
Officers are warning horse enthusiasts to be vigilant following the theft of £6,000 worth of equipment.
Offenders broke into a metal storage container in Longner Gorse, between Church Eaton and Wheaton Aston, overnight Tuesday 28 July and Wednesday 29 July. They stole nine sets of Zilco and Walsh American trotting harnesses, an Equissage horse roller (without batteries), three saddles and three hunter bridles.
The theft followed a similar crime in Orchard Lane, Shareshill, on Monday 27 July in which equestrian equipment worth over £1,600 was taken.
Officers believe the break-ins may be linked.
They are urging anyone with information to ring PC 827 Kate Hardt at Staffordshire Police on 0300 123 4455 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
Police are also urging horse enthusiasts to safeguard their property by improving security. A variety of devices are available to protect property in rural, isolated areas.
